We stayed until 10:15 or so (above), upon return to the cabin, Joey did not dissappoint with dinner! Joey started "Into the Wild" over so we all could watch it. Ironic that I'm watching a movie of a guy exploring Alaska & writing in his journal as I am doing the same thing, to a lesser degree.
8/25/2009 Tuesday Dave was up first and made a pot of coffee. I stayed up to finish the movie, the whole time wanting to do what he did....until he died. * We are horrible fishers, the previous 5 hours were about the best fishing conditions we could have here (and arguably one earth) and we slept right through it! Dave wants to head to the mouth of the Kenai...again beautiful....again..unfishable. We ended up at Soldatna creek park after I had suggested another hole that didn't pan out either. Blaze and I started to fish while Joey and Dave went to talk to some guides. After some quick hookups, I switched to a black flesh fly with a little pink on it. 20 casts later and BAM! It's a "Silver" and he hit it Hard! Jumping and flipping out of the water constantly. I was Hootin and Hollerin to a point where everyone on the river was watching me. I had him a few times right on shore, (where's a net when you need it?) before he mede a quick dart to the fast rapids and snapped my line. A short while later I landed a Rainbow. Official Tally Mike: 2 Rainbows landed, 2 Silver hookups, and 1 unknown. Others: 0 hence the charter.
