We ended up stopping at Sourdough Creek Campground. Blaze made a fantastic cheesburger for dinner.
We lit a fire (after my failed attempt) B.S'd for a while. Politics came up for a long time. We definitely have our opinions, but I suppose that's a good thing. I think we can all learn from one another. The stars were out again and we stared at them for a long time. Sattelites, shooting stars, milky way and thoughts on how infinitely small we are..... I love this Place Joey said he would always remember standing under the stars this night.
8/22/2009 9:45 Woke up 6:15, at 7:00 am I walked to the stream behind the RV with a cup of coffee and in my Pj's, then down to the main Gulkana river, keenly aware that I am defenseless upon surprising a bear. When I got down to the main river I was surprised immediately by a Bald Eagle majestically gliding 50 ft above the river, moving downstream....What a first sighting!! Something I will remember for a long time. He came back a while later after I geared up so I was able to get a few shots of him (above). Nothing spectacular..... good proof though.
