Not a bad view
(Back porch) After the lady showed us around she told a story of a guide being attacked by a bear just down the road from here. He was a 1/4 mile from his house walking his dog. The bear gave no warnings and ran straight for him. He had a .45 and unloaded it into the bear, but didn't kill it. He called his wife frantically saying he thought the bear is going to kill him. She hurried down with a shotgun and the man finished the bear off. Apparently the bear was emaciated and old, therefore desperate and very dangerous. Joey said he could have done without that story, but for me it brings back the real dangers of Alaska, which for me adds to the thrill. We are among some of the largest and most dangerous animals in the world, in a setting that can only be called surreal. 2:47 pm "Trustworthy Hardware and Fishing" Bought a decent 4 pc fly rod on sale. Way better than the cheapy I have at home though. 4:50pm GLORIOUS HOT SHOWER!! Joey is going to cook dinner tonight while we fish. Pasta and meatballs with sausage.
